SURGOINSVILLE - Mae Bailey, age 87, Surgoinsville, died Friday, October 17, 2003 at Church Hill Health Care following an extended illness.
She was a member of Longs Bend Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bailey; parents, Lura and Jim Rimer; sons J. B. and Garnie Bailey; brothers, Bill Rimer, Hillard Rimer; sisters, Grace Bellamy and Blannie Williams.
She is survived by her children, Elser Bailey and wife, Dorothy, Surgoinsville, Phloma Skelton and husband Howard, Rogersville, Therna Bailey, Sandson, VA, Meri Del Mull, Richmond, VA; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Cradie Rimer, Rogersville, Geraldine Drinnon, Surgoinsville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 19, 2003 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home chapel with Revs. Fain Arnold and Pat Hammonds officiating. Graveside services were held Monday, October 20, 2003 at Longs Bend Cemetery. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
