Was the daughter of Washington Madison Overstreet & Caroline Frances Permelia Johnston~
Mary Louisa (Issee) Overstreet was born Oct. 26, 1845 in Kemper County, Mississippi. She married Eli Townsend at the age of 17 on the 12th of November 1862. To this union was born, Daughters,Susan Joella, Mary Catherine, Edna and twin daughters Willie and Laura, Sons, James Issac and George Steadman. Eli passed away in 1882 and was laid to rest in Moorehead Cemetery in Melton, Henderson County, Texas. Mary Louisa married James Blackwell, they were listed in the 1900 Census Records of Houston County, Texas, he passed away between 1900 and 1910. Mary was listed in the 1910 Census Records as living in the household of her grandaughter Eva Jewel Williams Clark. Sometimes during 1910 Mary became ill with tuberculosis and was commited to the Womens Confederate Home in Austin, Texas where She died, Oct. 24, 1925, of tuberculosis. She was buried on Oct. 25, 1925 in Livelyville Cemetery,Grapeland, Houston County, Texas, USA.
