Arlene Yender Brummitt.
Funeral Services for Arlene Jane Yender Brummitt, 54, of Shiloh, ILL., formerly of Lisle, [ILL], and San Antonio, [TX] will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, [ILL] with the Rev. Basil Yender officiating. Interment will be in Lisle Cemetery, Lisle, [ILL]. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Friday, at the funeral home. Born June 5, 1951, in Aurora, she died Monday Aug. 22, 2005, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. Arlene grew up in Lisle and was a 1970 graduate of Lisle High School. She held an undergraduate degree in special education from Illinios State University, Normal (Class of 1974) and a master's of science from Texas State University, San Marcos. Arlene was a special education teacher for several grade schools in DuPage and Will Counties early in her career. She worked as a civilian employee at Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, for 19 years and most recently was employed at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. She enjoyed classic autos and was a member of the Vintage & Classic Thunderbird Clubs. She is survived by her husband, Samuel D. Brummitt of Shiloh, whom she married July 31, 1999: two daughters, Kristen Rossi of O"Fallon, ILL., and Susan (Alex) Lopez of San Antonio: two stepchildren, Brian Bummitt of Austin, Texas and Carrie (Andy) Bummitt-Perez of San Antonio: four step grandchildren: her parents, Andrew E. Sr. and Viola F. (nee Rosenberger) Yender of Lisle, [ILL]: two siblings, Ruth Yender of Seattle, Wash. and [half-brother] Ross Bishop of Santa Fe, N.M. She was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew E. Yender Jr. in 1977. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 651 W. Washington Blvd., # 400, Chicago,IL 60661.
