OBITUARY:
Clara A. Hogue, daughter of Frank and Lena Peterson, was born September 14, 1890 at Cottage Hill, and passed away March 17, 1972, at her home in Waterville, Kansas, having reached the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 3 days. Clara attended school at Cottage Hill and Waterville High School. She was united in marriage to Harry C. Hogue of Barnes in 1911 and they lived their entire married years on their farm near Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, four sisters and her husband. She is survived by her daughter; two grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; also a number of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, March 20, 1972 at 2:00 p.m. in the Waterville United Methodist Church with the Reverend William Winter officiating. Mr. Alvin Roepke sang, "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" with Mrs. C.H. Youngberg accompanist. Casketbearers were: Warren Clark, Floyd Clark, Walter Moore, Leonard Wehmeier, Earl DeWyke, and Denn Perkins. Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery with arrangements by Youngbergs.
