Marion Shirley Herring, 52, of Route 1 in Dyke, died Aug. 14, 1987 in Charlottesville hospital. She was born Aug. 21, 1934 in Charlottesville. Her father was the late Frank H. Powell.
She is survived by her mother, Beatrice Payne Powell of Charlottesville; her husband, Bernard E. Herring; two daughters, Deborah A. Riggs and Cathy L. Medley, both of Dyke; a son, Toddi Herring of Dyke; four grandchildren, Jamie R. and Justin T. Riggs, and Shannon M. Powell and Dustin A. medley; a brother Frank H. Powell Jr. of Charlottesville; two half brothers, Wilbur A. Thomasson of Charlottesville and Bernard O. Thomasson of Spotswood, N. J.; and two half-sisters, Lillie L. Norvelle of Charlottesville and Katherine Williams of Earlysville.
She was employed for 23 years with Crouse-Hinds Distributors.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p. m. Monday at the Nortonsville Pentecostal Church, of which she was a member. Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Ellis Roach officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p. m. today and Sunday at the Ryan Funeral Home in Quinque.
