ONEIDA - John C. Battey, 85, of Shed's Corner, a former Oneida resident and owner of an automotive service station here before his retirement, died Friday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse.
He was born in Peterboro. He married Earla Lynch in Peterboro in 1923. He was a veteran of World War I.
He was a member of Madison Barracks, Veterans of World War I and Oneida Lodge F&AM. He leaves his wife, Earla.
The funeral will be at 2pm on Sunday from the Campbell Dean Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
