LUCRETIA BENNETT

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lucretia Bennett, 88, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born Dec. 4, 1913, at Puxico, Mo., daughter of Wilfred L. and Myrtle Jane Beard Buckley. She and the late Truman Bennett were married July 28, 1957. He died Feb. 7, 1988.

Bennett was a housewife. She was a member of Trinity Baptist, Sikeston Chapter 137 of the Order of the Eastern Star, past matron of Sikeston Past Matrons, and past Patron Club.

Survivors include a son, Gayle Way of Sikeston; a brother, Lynn Buckley of Puxico; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Tom Geers will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories in Sikeston.
