Vera Mae Bachman, the daughter of Carl and Agnes (Woelflinger) Stiegemeier, was born in Harvard, Nebraska on February 2, 1924 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on August 18, 2008, at the age of 84.

Vera was born and raised in Harvard. She graduated from Harvard High School in 1941, after graduation she taught Country School.

Vera was united in marriage to Harold E. Bachman on April 8, 1944 in Aurora. They lived on a farm near Giltner, where they raised their four children. Harold passed away on November 4, 2005.

Vera was a very caring person who loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sewing, crafts and all types of flowers, especially her roses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Roger Allen Bachman and an infant brother.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Dale Bachman of Giltner; two daughters, Grace (Jim) Holtzen of Aurora and Catherine (Rick) Sekora of Grand Island; two grandsons, Adam Sekora and Blake Sekora. She is also survived by her brother, Ivan Stiegemeier of Harvard, sister-in-law, Viola Dolen of Huntington Beach, California and many nieces, nephews and friends.
