Louis W. Gessner, 40, 1999 E. Ohio 6, Fremont, died Tuesday Oct. 10, 1995 in the emergency room at Fremont Memorial Hospital.

Born in Fremont to Vernon L and Dorothy (Green) Gessner, he graduated from Ross High School in 1973 and attended the University of Toledo. He married Christine Penny on Sept. 25, 1982, in Fremont. She survives.

He worked for United Parcel Service in Fremont for 20 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Brainard Masonic Lodge 336, F&AM, and the Fremont Eagles.

Also surviving are sons, Michael and Robert Gessner, both at home and sisters, Sharon L. Watkins and Nadine M. Smith, both of Fremont. His parents and an infant sister, Diana Lou, are deceased.

Services are 10 am Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church where the body will lie in state one hour before the services. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation is 7 to 9 pm Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home. Memorials may be to the Gessner children educational fund or the church.
