Memorial service: 7 p.m. Wednesday at historic Baker Funeral Home. Burial: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Peaceful Rest Cemetery, Gause. Arrangements are by Peoples Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Ruth was born May 26, 1932, in Gause to Alvie Hayes and Marion McWhorter "Mack" Bud Walker. She married Luther Malone and to this union a son, Andre, was born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bright; parents, Walter Jack and Alvie Snelgro; and grandmother, Jerlene Vera Reed.
Survivors: Son, Andre P. Malone (Cheryl); sisters, Maxine Brown (Mack) of Fort Worth and Barbara Walker of Branchville; brothers, Hiram Walker (Calista), Windell Walker (Deborah) and Ronnie Walker (Rhonda) of San Antonio; uncle, the Rev. Jessie Snelgro (Florence); granddaughters, Asha Malone-Oremade (Olufemi) and Amber Malone of Denton; grandson, Andre P. Malone II of Bryan; great-granddaughter, Anstacia Diaz of Bryan; special nieces, Ava Mitchell and Kimberly Blackmon of Fort Worth; and other relatives and friends.
