John Coleman Of Prescott Dies

FONTANELLE - John J. Coleman, 85, a longtime farmer in the Prescott community, died at his farm home 3 miles northeast of Prescott at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ewing funeral home at Fontanelle. Rev. William Fry, pastor of the Prescott United Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Fontanelle cemetery. His family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.

Mr. Coleman is survived by five daughters, Mrs. David Kautz and Mrs. Viola Williamson, both of Creston, Mrs. Rud Blazek and Mrs. Don Brown, both of Prescott, and Mrs. Grace Kosar of Massena; two sons, Chris and Wilson Coleman, both of Prescott; 34 grandchildren, 115 great-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

John Colemans Mark 58th Anniversary

PRESCOTT - Children and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. John Coleman gathered at their home north of Prescott Tuesday evening to help them celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Coleman are the parents of six daughters, two sons, 32 grandchildren, and 65 great-grandchildren.

While the guests numbered 72, there were 62 members of the family who were absent. The evening was spent visiting and taking pictures. Ice cream, cake, pie, and coffee were served.

Those attending the celebration were the following children and grandchildren: Mr. and Mrs. David Kautz and Mrs. Viola Williamson of Creston; Mr. and Mrs. Rud Blazek, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Coleman and Anna, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Coleman and John, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Brown and Susie of Prescott; and Mrs. Grace Kosar and Lary of Massena. A daughter, Mrs. Max Smith of Des Moines and all of her family were unable to be present.

Other grandchildren at the observance were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Chapman, Phyllis, Patty, and Pamela and Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Stender of Massena; Mr. and Mrs. Bill McKee, Becky, Cindy and Sonya and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bozwell, Bobby and Kathy, Mr. and Mrs. Don Keller, June and Wesley, and Mrs. John Williamson, Sharon, Diane, Sandra, Rodney, Douglas, Joyce, Gloria, Johnie, Donnie, Peggy and Penny, all of Creston.

Also, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brown, Steven and Jackie, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schafer, Sheila and Ricky, Mr. and Mrs. John Blazek, Deammie, Jr., and Gary, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sheriff, Wanda, Janie, Evelyn, Allen and Richard, all of Prescott, and Mr. and Mrs. John Kosar, Kaye Rae, Mikey, and Sherri of Kansas City, Mo.
