ACKERMANN, WILLETTA LOUISE KATZMAN, 90, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 20, 2006. She was a resident of Harborside Nursing Center and previously lived on Dartmouth Avenue. She was retired from Allied Sporting Goods, and earlier worked at Seagram's Distillery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland "Rollie" Ackermann, in 1971. Mrs. Ackermann is survived by daughters Debbie Downs (Sandy) of Mount Sterling, KY, and Kaye Ackermann of Charlotte, NC; three sisters and one brother, Marian Davis, Bill Katzman (Barbara), and Carol McAllister (Jesse), all of Louisville and Evelyn Hopper of Russell Springs, KY., 22 nieces and nephews; and a very dear lifelong friend, Sarah Beck. Visitation for Mrs. Ackermann will be held at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331Taylorsville Rd., from 6- 8p.m. Sunday. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m., with interment immediately following in Resthaven Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 3703 Taylorsville Rd., Suite 102, Louisville, KY, 40220, in memory of Mrs. Ackermann.
