SUDDEN DEATH OF GRAND JUROR
George E Badgley, Manager Of the Lime Works, Found Dead In His Bed Early Last Saturday Morning
This community was painfully shocked last Saturday morning when the news that George E Badgley manager of the Pacific Lime & Plaster Co was found dead in his bed at his home on South Washington street.
Mrs Badgley though not feeling well for a week previous to his demise attended to the business affairs of his company. On Wednesday he was impaneled as a member of the grand jury and upon which body he was given service upon the courthouse committee. On Thursday he felt so badly that he was temporarily excused Friday. He had evidently passed away in his sleep, at least without a struggle, as the bed clothes were unruffled and tucked about him. Dr Bromley was summoned, he fund the body warm from which fact it is deduced that death had ensued only a few hours before he was found. Dr Bromley found that the cause of death was angina pectoris, a disease which affects the nervous supply of the heart.
The deceased was born in Illinois in 1863, being a few months past 50 years of age at the time of his death. The funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon under the auspices of Sonora Lodge No 10, IOOF. Internment was in the IOOF cemetery.
