Born September 1, 1883, Hooper, to Francis Marion and Lilis Subina Robinson Belnap. Married Zina Haffie Taylor, August 21, 1912, Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died May 22, 1964. Farmer all his life. Lifelong resident of Hooper. Educated in Hooper. Attended Weber Academy, where he was a member of the basketball team. Missionary in Swiss-German mission. Had been Ward Clerk in the Hooper Ward; member Weber Stake High Council; President High Priest's Quorum, Lake View State; ward and home teacher, worked in Senior Aaronic Priesthood program, Hooper 2nd Ward. Taught public school in Hooper, Taylor and Kanesville, Utah; also in Oakley, Idaho. Active in political and civic affairs. Board member and assisted in the organization of Weber Central Dairy Assoc. Helped initiate Hooper Tomato Days. Worked for irrigation and drainage projects in his community. Wrote poetry for specific people on special occasions.
Survivors: four sons, daughter, M Kimball Belnap, Roy, Utah; Glen T Belnap, Hooper, Utah; Max G Belnap, Mrs. Thelborn J (Norma Verness) Sandford, both Ogden; L Parley Belnap, American Fork; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, sister G Ellis Belnap, O Victor Belnap, both Hooper; Mrs. John (Voietta) Blanch, Ogden.
Funeral services, Thursday, 1 pm, Hooper 1st and 3rd Ward Chapel, with Bishop C Jay Simpson officiating. Friends may call Lindquist & Sons Mortuary, Ogden, Wednesday, 6-8 pm and at the Ward Chapel Thursday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Hooper City Cemetery.
