Funeral serves for Aleta Ruth Pendley Anderson were held at 10 am Monday, July 14, 2003 at the Trinity Baptist Church in El Reno, with interment in the Rush Springs Cemetery.
Officiating were Cliff Johnson and the music was presented by Candace Hensley and Earl Boyer. Services were conducted under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, El Reno.
Mrs Anderson was born 21 Mar 1936, on the family farm at Rush Springs, and died Thursday, 10 July 2003 at her home in El Reno, following an extended battle with cancer.
She was married to Adrian Anderson on 29 Nov 1957 in Rush Springs and moved to El Reno in 1964. She was employed with Kelso's Department Store in the late 1960s, and with the Al Mays Tag Agency from 1970 to 1973. She was Canadian County Farm Bureau Secretary from 1973 to 1984. She later worked with her husband int he auction business prior to her appointment by the Oklahoma State Senate as Motor License Agent in El Reno which she continued to her death.
She was a member of the Amity Baptist Church, and prior to that she was a long time member of the Trinity Baptist Church which she dearly loved along with her many friends there.
Survivors include her husband, Adrian, of the home; a daughter Alaina Kay Ungerecht and husband John of Oklahoma City, and a son, Alan Jay Anderson and wife Margot of Plano, Texas. Her grandchildren, Erin Elane and Andrew Christian Ungerecht, and Alexis Vivian and Abigail Rae Anderson.
Also, her sister, Leatrice Pendley Sluder of Blanchard, her brother, Doyle Pendley and wife Dorothy of Rush Springs, sister-in-law, Betty Joe Anderson Murphy and husband Bedford of Healdton, many nephews, nieces and a host of loving friends, special among them were Susie Gallaway and Sue Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her parents James M and Vivian Tunnel Pendley of Rush Springs, her brother-in-law Vernon Sluder, and her very close friend Peggy Abner.
Pallbearers were Harold Hale, Mark Galloway, Davie Abner, L Van Perkins, Art Snyder, and Gid Tinsley.
