Grandfather to Eight.
Served in the Marines in WWI and was wounded in France, when a morter exploded if front of him. The doctors wanted to amputate his lower leg.....CN wouldn't let them. The doctors ended up fusing his leg at the knee and he walked with a limp the rest of his life.
