Arthur G. Fitzgerald, 65, former Valparaiso resident, residing at 317 Cable street, LaPorte, Ind., died at 7:15 p.m. Friday in Holy Family hospital, LaPorte. He had been ill a week.
The decedent was born Sept. 1, 1883, at Seventysix, Mo., a son of William F. and Vica Fitzgerald, and before going to LaPorte a year ago resided in Logansport and Valparaiso.
For a number of years he had been employed by the Fruit Growers' Express at Indiana Harbor, and was affiliated with the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen of America.
Surviving are one son, William Fitzgerald, LaPorte; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Sabinski, Chesterton; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Knight of Bristolville, O., and one brother, Everett Fitzgerald, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Methodist church, Valparaiso, with the Rev. Harvey J. Kieser officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call at the Haverstock funeral home in LaPorte Sunday noon and up until 1 p.m. Monday.
