CHAPMAN
The death angel has again visited our family and took with her our dear mother and grandmother, Mrs. E.V. Chapman. When a young lady, she was married to Elijah Vernon Chapman, living happy with him until God called him home 24 years ago. Fourteen children were born to bless their union, seven boys and seven girls. Twelve of whom are yet living, the youngest being almost 50 years of age. Our dear old mother was in her 90th year, yet her mind was strong and her faith grew brighter and brighter until a few weeks ago, when God whispered to her, your work on earth is finished, Come to a home not made with hands, eternal in the heavens, and as she lived with her two youngest daughters the rest of our children being scattered in different states. She had a message sent, calling every one by name telling them she would not be here long, that God had called and that she must obey. She had prayed for a long time that he would let just let her fall asleep and her prayers were answered for while sitting in her chair, angel bore her spirit home without a struggle. How pleasant to die in the Lord. She gave her heart to God when a little girl and has served him 80 years and has never tired. Our mother's God is our God. While her earthly house is gone to the grave, she has building, a building of God eternal in the heavens. Her voice stilled, yet she lives. Her words are a bread cast upon the water to be gathered many days hence
