The son of the late Clarence Erwin and Florabel Case Gordon, he was born March 22, 1910 in Orange County.
He was a member of the Carpenter and Joiners Union Local 255, Fair Oaks; former trustee for Local Union #2372, Monticello; and original commissioner of the Rock Hill Fire Dept., serving 29 years from 1958 to 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Madeline Keating Gordon, at home; one daughter, Judith McGowan of Circleville; three sisters, Hazel Piper of Wurtsboro, Pearl Blenis of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and Florence Gordon of Rock Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Walter W. Gordon and one sister, Mildred Elliott.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 66 St. John Street, Monticello.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at the funeral home. Rev. Rosemary Smith will officiate.
Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery, Rock Hill.
