Roger was the only child of parents Ralph N. and Beulah C. (Richie) Aronhalt. Roger received his early education at Colfax Country School. Roger then attended Winfield High School and was in the Class of 1943. He then attended Wesleyan College for one year before enlisting in the United States Navy during WWII, he served on the destroyer, USS Benner and was stationed off the coast of Japan in 1945.
Roger was married to Margaret "Louise" Humphreys of Wyman, Iowa on Setember 17, 1955.
After Roger's graduation from Iowa State College, he went to work on the Aronhalt Family Farm. In 1959 he was named Master Swine Producer. The Aronhalts moved to rural Mount Pleasant in 1969 and Roger retired in 1991 from REC after twenty years.
Roger was a member of the Cedar Creek Church and Henry County Farm Bureau. He was a 4-H Leader and a 60 year member of the American Legion Post #645 in Winfield, Iowa.
Together Roger and Louise they had two sons: John Newton Aronhalt and James Allen Aronhalt.
Roger was a good Christian and a wonderful, giving individual.
