MADELINE BURDGE MOODY-BLACK, 83, of HOWELL, died Saturday, June 21, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Lakewood, she lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Howell. She worked in production with Fluid Chemical in Lakewood for more than 30 years. Then she worked for Wal-Mart in Howell as a greeter. She was an officer with the Women of the Moose Lodge in Point Pleasant. She also was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Brick.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Black, in 1991. Surviving are her son, Alan Moody of Sabinal, Texas; two daughters, Eloise Davis of Sabinal and Kathleen and her husband, Jack Carvalho, of Lanoka Harbor; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, O'Connell Chapel, 706 Route 9, Bayville. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com.
