MILITARY FUNERAL FOR PVT. JOHN BEWS HERE
A military funeral will be held at the Moon Chapel here Thursday afternoon for Private John Bews, a former Vay resident who died in the Colfax, Wash., hospital on March 18.
Pvt. Bews was enjoying a furlough from Buckley Field, Colo., and visiting with his wife and small daughter at Colfax when taken ill with pneumonia. He had been in training as a radio technician.
He was born in Vay, Idaho, on Dec. 31, 1916, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bews, who preceded him in death several years ago.
Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by two brothers, James Bews of Vay and Andrew Bews of Athol, Idaho.
