Friends in this city will regret to learn of the accidental death of Sumner Winn Allen (1909-1937), 27, well known Bunnell resident who died en route to a St. Augustine hospital Saturday night following a motor accident when a front tire blew out.
The car which Allen was driving went 150 feet off the pavement before finally stopping against a tree.
His body was brought to St. Augustine by three Miamians who were first on hand after the wreck.
Deceased is the son of George Elliott Allen, prominent Bunnell planter and turpentine operator, nephew of Mrs. C. E. Currie of this city and a first cousin of George Currie.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dated Monday, 28 Jun 1937.)
