Mrs. Helen Marie Berkshire, 65, of 907 Franklin, died in Burlington Medical Center at 2:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.
The daughter of Alfred and Meta Hollingsworth Oberman, she was born here Sept. 1, 1914, in Burlington. She married Charles T. Berkshire Nov. 23, 1931; he died Sept. 26, 1968.
She was manager of the former Martha Brown Ltd. store and a member of the United Methodist church of Winfield.
Surviving: Two sons, Jack, Atlanta, GA., and Ervin, New London; daughter, Brenda Helphrey, New London; sister, Ruth Schnupper, Mediapolis; two brothers, William and Eugene Oberman, both of Burlington; and six grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Elliott Chapel, New London, Rev. John W. Vickers; Winfield Schott Township cemetery, Winfield. An American Cancer Society memorial has been established.
