He was born in Lancaster, a son of the late Stanley and Anna Sweigart Beall.
Charles was a retired decorated veteran of the U. S. Army retiring in 1969 and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster. He received his GED while serving in Germany. He also received the United Nations Service Campaign ribbon with six battle stars and a combat badge. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Mt. Pocono.
Surviving is a sister, Betty J. Rupp, and two nieces, Karen Boettner and Joyce Stern, all of New Holland.
Services will be at the convenience of the family with interment in Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery, East Cocalico Township.
The family requests memorial contributions in Charles's memory be sent to American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603. Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Akron/Ephrata.
