Funeral Services for Mr. James R. Colvin, Sr., age 77 of Ruston, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday June 12,2008 at Kilpatricks Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.
Mr. Colvin was born on May 22,1931 and passed away Monday evening June 9, 2008 at his residence with his family surrounding him.
Mr. Colvin was a Real Estate Professional Home Builder. He served in the US Air Force. He started his dream that became his life calling. His passion to help families obtain the American dream was his calling. His professional accomplishments and contributions to his community are many as are his friends and loved one. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Loyd Colvin of Ruston; daughter Larua E. Martzell of Key Biscayne, FL; Sons; James R, Colvin Jr. and wife Dawn of Benton, TX and Sidney Joel Colvin Sr and wife Carol of Ruston, LA; daughter: Jamie Colivn Carter of Ruston, LA; grandchildren; Ryan Persac, Jeanne' Persac, Elizabeth Patterson, Cole Herrington, Courtney Colvin, Joel Colvin Jr. Caleb Jospeh Colvin; great grandchildren; Alexander and Cole Patterson; brother: John C. Colvin of Ruston, LA; sister; Virginia Colvin Brooks of Monroe, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
