Donald S. Balliet, 70, of Lehighton, died early Monday morning in his home. He was the husband to Barbara A. (Merkel) Balliet since Jan. 17, 1959. Born in Bowmanstown, he was a son of the late Bertine L. and Alberta E. (Kocher) Balliet. Donald worked as an auto tech for Lehighton Lincoln/Mercury Dealership, for more than 40 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton. Donald was a 1955 graduate of the former S.S. Palmer High School, Palmerton. He was an avid 1957 Chevrolet BelAir enthusiast. Survivors: Wife; son, James D. and his wife, Stephanie, of Lehighton; grandchildren, Kyle D. and Ashley Jo; great-granddaughter, Kylie Julia Mattrazzo; sister, Eleanor, wife of Harrison Ahner, of Lehighton; brother, Franklin and his wife, Barbara, of Palmerton.
