DOROTHY "PECK" BAUGHER
Mrs. Dorothy Violet "Peck" Baugher, 80, a longtime resident of Payson, died at 9:35 a.m. Friday (November 30, 2007) at Blessing Hospital.

Born May 3, 1927 in Quincy, Illinois, Dorothy was the daughter of Merle and Lily A. Seiz Uppinghouse. She married Norman "Pink" Baugher Sr. on December 14, 1946 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1996.

Dorothy enjoyed working on her family geneaology. She was devoted to her family and especially loved being active in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dorothy worked as a decorator for many years from her home before becoming the Executive Secretary to Rev. Bill Foose at Good Samaritan Home for many years until her retirement.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Lummer and her husband Loren, Deborah "Debby" Davis and Donna Archibald and her husband John all of Quincy; two sons, Norman Baugher Jr. and his wife Prudence of Fulton, MO. and Clay Baugher and his wife Debra of Quincy; fifteen grandchildren, Heather Singleton, U.S.A.F. Major Matthew Baugher and his wife Mandy, Holly Baugher, Morgan Baugher, Michael Baugher, Jay Lummer and his wife Erin, Melissa Milliken, Dr. Shannon Baugher, Kyle Baugher, Cody Baugher, Monte Davis Jr. and his wife Sallie, Brooke Thomas and her husband Barney, Jordan Archibald, Khali Archibald and Adonya Archibald; 12 great-grandchildren, Jayden Lummer, Luke Milliken, Logan Milliken, Grady Milliken, Malcolm Davis, Barnell Thomas, Barnez Thomas, Brinique Thomas, Breighlynn Thomas, Lindsey Baugher, Marah Franklin and Laine Franklin; two sisters, Alice Allensworth of Quincy and Shelby Shanks and her husband Leo of Plainville, IL.; a brother Bluford "Doc" Uppinghouse and his wife Nadine of Payson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Baugher was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson in infancy, Luke Lummer; four brothers, Delbert "Red" Uppinghouse, Roy Uppinghouse, Donnie Uppinghouse and Lester Uppinghouse; and a sister, Freida Campbell.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson by Chaplain Steve Disseler. Burial will be in Payson New Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 and Monday morning until the time of services at the funeral home in Payson.

Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home or the Payson New Cemetery Association.
