Velma M. McCoy -- Velma M. McCoy, 90, of 2301 North Severance, died June 19, 1993, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born April 16, 1903, at Sawyer, the daughter of Warnie and Daisy Ann Chadwick Greenfield. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a retired operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
On Dec. 1, 1923, she married Dillard McCoy at Lyons. He died Sept. 15, 1970.
Survivors include: a son, Chester Michael, Hutchinson; a brother, Bill Greenfield, Hutchinson; two sisters, Daisy Schrader, Hutchinson, and Martha Donoho, Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Turon Cemetery, Turon, with the Rev. Harold Nelson presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the Oakwood Villa Care Center or to the family, both in care of the mortuary.
