(Granata) Spizziri. Fran graduated from McKinley High School in Chicago in 1938. She was united
in marriage to Victor G. Anderson on May 17, 1947 in Chicago. Fran lived in Chicago until shortly
after her marriage when she and Vic moved to Argyle, where she has resided since. Fran owned and
operated a bakery in Argyle for a number of years before working at Oaktron Industries in Monroe.
She later worked as a cook at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe for eighteen years, retiring
in the mid-eighties.
Fran is survived by her children: Sue (Phil) Johnson of Argyle, and Andrew (Joyce) Anderson of
Scarborough, ME; five grandchildren: Steve (Denise) Johnson, Kevin (Kelly) Johnson, Jeff (Lisa)
Johnson, and Michelle and Lindsay Anderson; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-
grandchildren; and her brother: Albert Spizziri of Salem, WI. She was preceded in death by her
husband Vic on April 3, 2003; a daughter Karen Olivio in 1976; a great-grandson Chad Johnson in
2005; and a granddaughter-in-law Lisa Johnson in 1994.
Fran was a member of Apple Grove Lutheran Church and past president of its Women of the ELCA.
She cherished spending time with her family, and loved quilting and baking. Fran will be
remembered for her Peanut Bars and Lefse, and always having a cookie jar full of cookies and other
treats when her family visited.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman of Apple
Grove Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Apple Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery.
