Bolen Services Friday

Services for Mrs. Roy (Mary) Bolen, 79, who died Tuesday at the NWK Medical Center, will be held Friday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Goodland, with Pastor David Fulton officiating. Services will begin at 10 a.m., with burial following in the Goodland Cemetery.

Mrs. Bolen was admitted to the hospital on Friday, Sept. 11. Koons Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of William Robert and Sadie Walker, Mary Susan was born Dec. 25, 1901 at Wardensville, W. Va. The family moved to Kansas in 1913 and had a dairy farm one mile south of Goodland, which is now the Armstrong Addition. Mary and Heye Frerichs were united in marriage in January 1924. To this union three children were born - Dorothy Shaw, William H. Frerichs and Jean Russell. Mary later married Roy Bolen.

Survivors include Dorothy Shaw of Memphis, Tenn.; Bill Frerichs of Colby; and Jean Russell of Goodland; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include three brothers - Philip Walker, Nick Walker and George Walker, all of Goodland; three sisters - Minnie Crosby and Elsie Novack, Denver, and Virginia Kirschmer, Amarillo, Tex.

Mrs. Bolen was especially fond of her grandchildren. She took great pride and interest in her flower garden and her needlework.

Memorials to the Diabetes or Heart Fund can be left at either bank or Koons Chapel.
