Virginia Gail Varney, 84, of Williamson, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, in Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington.
Born Aug. 19, 1916, at Walton, she was a daughter of the late Ota Franklin and Missouri Gibson Droddy.
She was a homemaker and member of Grace Baptist Temple.
She was also preceded in death by: husband, James C. Varney; son, James Kent Varney; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors: children, James Frank Varney, Williamson, Patricia Nerney, Greenville, R.I., Kay Booth, Beckley, Lynn Thacker, Pikeville, Ky.; grandchildren, Leslee Booth, Fairfax, Va., Jonathan Booth, Shady Spring, Andy Nerney, St. Louis, Mo., Beth Nerney, Greenville, Megan and Kevin Thacker, both of Pikeville, Chris Varney, Williamson; and great-grandchild, Nicholas Nerney, St. Louis.
Funeral: 11 am. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Weaver Mortuary Chapel, Williamson, with the Rev. Ron Sanger officiating.
Burial: Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher.
Pallbearers: family and friends.
Visitation: 6-9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
