Obituary 1983 - Douglas County Herald: "Funeral services for Mary Ellen Lietch, 80, of Ava, were held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Rev. J.R. Ivie officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
A former resident of Mt. Tabor community, Mrs. Lietch died at 6:55 P.M. Jan. 12 at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, following a long illness.
A resident of Ava for the past 17 years, she was a member of Bethel General Baptist Curch.
Born July 22, 1902 at McClurg, she was the daughter of Jason Jennings and Josephine Reynolds. She married Oscar H. Lietch on October 27, 1920 at Brown Branch. Mr. Lietch preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Charlie and Billy, both of Ava; two daughters, Mrs. Margie Phipps, Aurora, Ore., and Mrs. Elva Britton, Springfield; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Five brothers and one sister are deceased."
