Marion was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Rev. W.F. Ferguson and Edna Francis Ferguson. She graduated from Baylor University in 1943 with a B.S. in psychology. She married Sidney C. Hudson, husband of 64 years, on December 28, 1944, in Slaton, TX. She spent her married life as a devoted wife traveling the country supporting her husband's baseball career, raising their family, and making lifelong friends along the way. She especially delighted in her family and six wonderful grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving, fun-filled person who did everything to perfection and trusted her Lord with the future.
Marion has been a lifelong Baptist and a member for over 50 years of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco where she taught college Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Margaret Mixson Sunday School class. Through the years, she was an active member of PTA, P.E.O., Coterie, Waco Symphony, Historic Waco Foundation, Baylor University Heritage Club, and various boards.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Travis Ferguson.
Survivors include husband, Sidney C. Hudson; daughters, Carolyn Fisher and husband, John, of Waco; and Nancy Fields and husband, Randy, of San Antonio; grandchildren, Charlie and Sam Hays, of Waco, Ellan Shelton and husband, Andrew, of Denver, CO.; Rebecca Fields, of Oxford, England; and Travis and Elizabeth Fields, of San Antonio; brother, Waylon Ferguson and wife, Ann, of Waco; sister, Helen Ruth Houston and husband, Herb, of Holly Lake, TX.; and sister-in-law, Janet Ferguson, of Albuquerque NM.; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
