Helen C. Glunt, 71, of Croghan Pike, Shade Gap, died at 7:55 PM, Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Chambersburg Hospital. Born January 29, 1935, Cass Twp, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Florence (Miller) Park. She was married to Dale L. Glunt, October 2, 1944, at Three Springs, by the the Rev. Charles Rhodes. Surviving are the following children: Elwood "Woody" Glunt, Shade Gap; Sherman Glunt, Chambersburg; Kathy White, Lewistown; Maxine Whitsel, Shirleysburg; and Kevin Glunt, Rockhill Furnace. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson. The following brothers and sisters survive: Mary Querry, Mapleton; Beatrice Carson, Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, MD; Edwin Park, New Castle, Del; Peggy Waite, Mapleton; H. Jesse Park, Mapleton; Maurice "Sonny" Park, Newark, Del; William Park, Orrstown; and Robert Park, Doylesburg. One son, Duane Glunt, one brother, Chester Paul Park and one sister, Betty Stever, preceded her in death. Mrs. Glunt was a charter member of the Shade Gap Bible Church, Shade Gap, where she taught various children's Sunday School classes. During her life, she was a homemaker and babysitter. Funeral services will be held 2PM, Thursday, 4 May 2006, at the Shade Gap Bible Church, Shade Gap, with the Rev. Charles Hicks and the Rev. Robert Maurer officiating. Interment will be made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap. Friends may call at the church 6-9 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shade Gap Bible Church, Building Fund, Shade Gap, PA 17255. Arrangements are under the direction of the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home.
