The Daily News Journal, August 1, 2005 Graveside services for Herbert Eugene Alsup, Sr., age 88, of Woodbury, who died July 31, 2005 at his home, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram. Bill Alsup will officiate. He was born in Rutherford County, a son of the late Robert Thomas and Laura (Zumbro) Alsup. He is survived by sons, Herb (Anne) Alsup, of Woodbury, Glynn (Kathy) Alsup of Victorville, CA; Lynn (Roberta) Alsup, of Murfreesboro, Jerry (Kathy) Alsup of Louisville, KY; Ronnie (Trish) Alsup of Bowling Green, KY; daughters, Sue (Bill) Winsett, of Fayetteville, Alice (Randy) Morton, of Bellview; brothers, Howard Alsup of Cross Plaines, Walter Alsup of Winchester; sister, Lillian Whitworth, of Murfreesboro; 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Alsup and sisters, Mildred Mullins and Melba Mullins. He was a part of American Legion and attended Woodbury Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War II, 115th Field Artillery. Military Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made at Smith Funeral Home in Woodbury or Woodbury Church of Christ, to Billy Smith Preaching Scholarship. Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p. m. at Smith Funeral Home in Woodbury.
