Memorial Poem:

We miss thy dear mother, From thy familiar place. We do not hear thy footsteps here,Nor see thy cheerful face.

We miss thy at the table,We feel thy absence there. And oh, what sorrow pierce our heart, To see thy vacant chair.

We miss the in the garden, Where Thou didst oft retreat. To breathe the fragrances of the flowers,And rest thy weary feet.

We miss thy kind words spoken, Thy merry laugh and smile. We miss the fond look of thine eye,We miss the all the while.

Our home is sad without the, How desolate each heart. Oh, could we hear thy voice again, What joy it would impart.

We miss the, oh we miss the, Whichever way we go. The stroke of death that snatched the hence, Hath filled our hearts with woe.

Farewell our dearest mother, Our souls were knit to thine. The memory of thy kindness still,Around our hearts entwine.

Again we hope to meet thee,When life' short journey's o'er. Oh yes we hope to meet the,On heaven's eternal shore.

Response:

Oh children dear, hush every sigh,Wipe all they tears away.

For I have reached that world on high,Where reigns eternal day.

I've safely passed the billow's roar Upon life's stormy son,

An here upon the shining shore I'm waiting now for thee.
