Born in County Tyrone, Ireland. Died in Sandstone Township, Jackson Co Michigan. Married Clarissa Frost.

Thomas Cuff died 5 Dec 1884 at 73y 3m 17d in Sandstone Twp from dropsy & heart disease, born Ireland, farmer, parents Patrick & Margaret Cuff of Michigan.

From "Cracker Hill Crumbs-A Historicl Sketch of the Parma Area", it states: There is no exact record when Thomas Cuff came to the US as an immigrant. It was reported that he and his brother first went to Canada before settling in our area. Records show that he came to Sandstone township in 1834 and built a log cabin on the (present) Cuff Rd. Down through the years, there is a story that the Cuff family passed on. The Cuff family (as was the habit of many before the turn of the century) went to churches in Jackson. The Cuff family never missed a Sunday. They went by horse and buggy. Mr Cuff would drive....drop Mrs Cuff at the Episcopal Church on the way into Jackson and returning. Mr Cuff helped build the first Jackson Prison and worked on building the railroad from Jackson to the present Glasgow Rd.
