Gloria Ambrose, age 83, born March 12, 1925 in Eastland, Texas to Herbert Ivan and Ora Helen Reed, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in Houston, Texas.
Gloria was preceded in death by her spouse, Clarence W. Ambrose, Jr. and brother, Donald Reed.
She is survived by her son, Rod Ambrose and wife Effie; daughters, Barbara Lindsey and husband Bob, Catherine Ello and husband Mike, Elizabeth Hill and husband Kenneth, and Ruth Held and Hank Zarzemski; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Reed, and in-laws, Carolyn and Bill Evins, and Olivia Reed.
Gloria was a harpist, pianist, music teacher, and retired HISD elementary school teacher.
She was also a past member of the American Harp Society and Local San Jacinto Chapter, Royal Stewarts Harp Ensemble and the Gulf Coast Lever Harp Society.
