Almeda "Alma" Madeline Armstrong, 98, passed away April 13, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. Alma was born January 1, 1910 near Jellys Ferry, Tehama County. Her parents, Andre D. Scott and Marie L. Kueny were members of pioneer families near Jellys Ferry and Bear Creek, Shasta County. Alma lived most of her life in Shasta County, going to schools in Palo Cedro and Anderson.

Alma is survived by her two daughters Lillian Hawes Grigmon and Lola Hawes Schwartz, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. Alma was predeceased by her ex-husband Fred Hawes and husband Albert Armstrong.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Millville District Cemetery (IOOF) at 11 a.m.
