Jasper Inman Johnston was the son of Alexander(Buzz) Johnston and Matilda Woodson Johnston. Alexander was born in Illinois, January 1, 1864. Matilda was the daughter of William Winn Woodson and Nancy Mills. They married October 7, 1883 in Missouri. They had 11 children, seven sons and four daughters, they are Cleveland, Joe, Ezra, Jasper, Henry, Robert,Allie, Clementine, Beaula, Ollie and Bessie. Alexander Johnston and Matilda Woodson Johnston are buried at Goodloe Cemetery, Quitman Ar. Alexander Johnston was the son of ,Joseph (Joe) Johnston and Sussannah Main Johnston. Joseph was born in Pennsylvania on June 6, 1836. He married Susanna Main on October 10, 1861 in Pike County, Illinois. They had eight children, Ellen, Albert, Alexander, Emmitt, Louisa, William, Charles and Anne. Joseph Johnston and Sussanna Main Johnston are both buried in the Goodloe Cemetery, Quitman Arkansas, Cleburne County.
Joseph Johnston was the son of Thomas Johnston, born in Beaver County, Pennsylvania 1799. Thomas served in the War of 1812 ansd got a land grant. This is recorded in the 1891 book"Poatrait and Biographical Album of Pike County" Illinois. He married Katherine Main January 1, 1824 in Pennsylvania, and they had 4 children, William Henry, Solomon Thomas, Joseph, and Sarah.Thomas died in 1866 in Pike County Illnois.
Thomas Johnston, was the son of Richard Johnston born in Ireland 1763. Richard Johnston and family immgrated to thr United States when he was about 10 years old.Richard Johnston married Jane Bradford and they had 6 children, Thomas, Alexander, Ruth, Jacob, Richard, and Robert. Richard was a farmer and he taught school. Richard died in 1825 in Pennsylvania.
