Nancy Lura Daniels, 81, was called home early Thursday morning, April 3, 2008, at Hill's Nursing Home.
She was born April 5, 1926, in Lancaster, S.C., to Arthur and Minnie Rutledge who both preceded her in death.
Nancy graduated as valedictorian of her high school class, graduated from Allen University, Columbia, S.C., and taught school for several years. Her hobbies were typing, playing the piano, writing letters, embroidery and taking care of her family.
She was a loyal member of First Baptist Church Westside, a devoted missionary sister for many years and active in Sunday School until her health failed.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Desota Daniels and a sister, Earnestine Stover.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Hervie Daniels, Idabel; one son, Hervie Lasalle Daniels and his wife Bridgette, New Jersey; one daughter, Virginia Daniels Arku, Idabel; one brother, Charlie Wilson Rutledge, Newberry, Calif.; niece, Carol Rutledge; two special friends of the family, Arvella Walker and Sister Magnolia Ferguson, both of Idabel; and a host of other nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at First Baptist Church Westside with the Rev. Michael D. Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Williamston Cemetery.
There will be a visitation for family and friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
