Lorene Berry, 85, of La Porte, TX was born October 20, 1922 in Hickory Plains, AR and passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 in a Houston hospice. She was a member of the Sons of Hermann and the Golden Acres Methodist Church in Pasadena.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Berry; parents, Cooper and Thresea Polk; and brother, Charles Polk. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wallace and Juanita Berry of Baytown; sisters, Blanche Raney of Dallas, Margaret Fomby of Pasadena, Lucille Smothers of Illinois and Christine Welch of Bebe, AR; brothers, R. J. "Bud" Polk and Gene Polk, both of Hickory Plains, AR; grandchildren, Charles Vernon Berry of Albuquerque, NM, Robyn La Verne Berry of Kingwood, Debrah Lynn Berry of Houston, Kem Mathews of Baytown and Donna Forrest of Crosby; great grandchildren, Taylor and Ryan De Blassie, Matthew Berry and Jason Mabry; and great great granddaughter, Ava Berry.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan De Blassie, Kyle Forrest, Tyler Forrest, Danny Germany, Nathan Mathews, and Beau Smith.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Re. Ken Goodell officating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
