Kathleen Burks Allen, 86, of Decatur, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital, was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Whigam, Ga., to John Burks and Annie Jones Burks. She was a homemaker, previous owner of North Alabama Glass of Huntsville, and a member of Central Baptist Church. Her husband, Sam Allen, and sister, Evie Moore, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, John Allen of Tuscaloosa, Tom Allen and wife, Cheryl, of Nashville, and Kenneth Allen and wife, Lynn, of Decatur; one daughter, Kathy Allen of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Joyce Allen; one sister, Wilodean Watkins and husband, Floyd, of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Brad Allen of Jackson, Miss., Tracey Morgan and husband, Lance, Jamie Lucy and husband, Brian, and Matt Allen, all of Nashville, Jennifer Brown and husband, John, and Beth Allen, both of Destin, Fla., and Brit Allen of Auburn; and five great-grand children, Landon Morgan, Ella Morgan, Noah Lucy, Chloe Lucy and Davis Brown.
Pallbearers will be John Allen, Tom Allen, Kenneth Allen, Brad Allen, Matt Allen and Brit Allen.
