Dorothy Nina (Hodgson) Anderson, passed away, April 3, 2008 in Holdrege, Nebraska. Dorothy was born April 29, 1922 at Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Ralph and Mabel (Cook) Hodgson.

She received her primary education from District South #17 through the 10th grade, finishing her high school years at Lexington High School graduating with the class of 1940. Dorothy then pursued higher education at Kearney State College for two years. Dorothy was then employed in the offices of the Union Petroleum Co. and Nebraska Natural Gas Co. in Lexington. On March 2, 1947 she was united in marriage to Dell R. Anderson of Loomis and to this union two children were born: Marlys and Marvin. They made their home on a farm north of Loomis for over 40 years. In 1988, Dorothy and Dell moved into Holdrege. Following a stroke suffered by Dorothy in 1998, they made their home at Chrisoma West since 2000 and later at Christian Homes due to her failing health. On October 18, 2004 she was preceded in death by her husband, Dell.

Dorothy was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Loomis since 1952, where she was baptized and served in many capacities including, assisting with children's meetings on Wednesday evenings, was active with the Free Church Women's Ministry and was a pianist for many years. She loved reading and enjoyed the musical groups who ministered at Christian Homes.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Marlys Anderson and her husband, Eddie of Loomis; one son, Marvin Anderson and his wife, Gwen Jenkins of Toronto, Canada; five grandchildren: Kelly Anderson and his wife, Carolyn of Loomis, Cory Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska, Mindy Knott and her husband, Nathan of Lincoln and Dylan and Gareth Anderson of Toronto; great-grandchildren: Kalen and Edison Knott and Chloe Anderson; sister-in-law, Margaret Hodgson of Grand Island, Nebraska; one niece, two nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Horace Hodgson; sisters-in-law: Grace Roper and Doris Anderson and brother-in-law, George Roper.
