Mrs. Blair was born in South Hero, June 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Santor) Ducharme. She attended the Cathedral High School in Burlington as well as Mount Saint Joseph's Academy in Rutland. On June 20, 1940 she was married to Roderick Blair who predeceased her on Nov. 8, 1978.
For over 30 years Mrs. Blair drove school bus in the Alburg area, first being self-employed and later for Don G. Bell, Inc. of Swanton. She also owned and operated Bell-Mott Lodge and WindSong Cottage tourist homes in Alburg for almost 30 years. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Parish and a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
She is survived by a son, Roderick Blair of Essex and six daughters and their husbands, Frances and Michael Tourville of Clemson, S.C., Roberta Blair Bruley and O.W. "Bud" of St. Albans, Ronda Desautels of Burlington, Randolyn Blair Bennett and Thomas of Montgomery, Raylene Blair McFeeters and Charles of St. Albans and Ronita Blair Pretty and Geoffrey of Alburg. Also surviving are two very close friends who she thought as much of as her own children, Judy Poquette Sherrer of St. Albans and Wally Zablonski of Alburg as well as her grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Tracy, Marni and Dave, Jeff, Jill and Geoff, Jason and Diane, Christina and Rob, Rod, Jeff, Richie, Renee and Greg, Courtney, Stephenie, KaSondra, Meaghan, Skyelour and Renee; several additional great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A granddaughter, Rebecca Blair and a son-in-law, Wayne Desautels, predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. from St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Alburg Village. Interment will follow in the Blair family lot in St. Amadeus Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, today, Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Gifts in Mrs. Blair's memory may be made to the Alburg Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, Inc., P.O.
