MRS. MINNIE DUCKWORTH
Minnie Duckworth, daughter of William and Sarepta Umbenhower, was born Sept. 5, 1893, and passed from this life April 3, 1958, at the age of 64 years, six months and 29 days, at the Grayson Nursing Home in Des Moines.
She suffered a heart attack Jan. 5, and was a patient in the Iowa Lutheran Hospital until the two weeks preceding her death, when she went to the nursing home. She was born and reared in Lucas county and lived here until 1929, when she moved to Des Moines.
She was united in marriage to Walter Duckworth Sept. 17, 1913. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Greta, who died in 1926.
She is survived by two sons, Neal of Russell and Clell of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Marie Clark, Richard, Marvin, Eddie, Sharon, Bobbie and Dale; two great-grandchildren, Robert and Russell Clark; five sisters, Mrs. Della Richey of Melrose, Mrs. Grace Scott of Millerton, Mrs. Etta Duckworth and Mrs. Lesta McDonald, both of Chariton, and Mrs. Fern Gerhart of Des Moines; and a brother, George Umbenhower of Melrose.
She was baptized when a child, and was a member of the Simpson Methodist church, which she attended regularly.
Funeral services were held at the Coal Glen church Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Mr. Steele of Des Moines officiating. The Evan Lilly Funeral home had charge of arrangements.
