Archibald was the son of Mitchell Biggs of Robeson County, North Carolina. His brothers and sister were John A., Sarah, Randolph, Jane, Charles Tully, and James.
Archibald married Elizabeth (Barnett) [Matthews] between 1821 & 1823. Elizabeth was born Nov. 11, 1801 in Georgia, and died April 27, 1853 in Monroe Co., Alabama. Together they had ten children: John Winfrey(b 10-21-1825-d 8-30-1899), Miles Monroe(b 3-26-1828-d 2-6-1910), Ethan(b 1829-d 9-20-1884), Sarah(b 12-1-1829-d 9-20-1884), William(b 1839-d unknown), Margaret(b 1834-d unknown), Caroline Elizabeth(Biggs)Dean(b 6-11-1839-d 12-15-1915), Tully James(b 2-2-1831-d 2-3-1902), & Elizabeth (Biggs) Dees(b 11-6-1847-d unknown), Charity Ann (Biggs) Roley(b 8-23-1849-d 5-21-1921).
Elizabeth Barnett's first husband was John William Matthews. They had one son: Cincinnatus Winchester Matthews.
According to Monroe Co., Ala. census dated June 20 and 21, 1880, Archibald was living there with two of his daughters.
Sometime after that he came to McNeil Com., Caldwell Co., Texas to visit, or live, with his children, he became ill, and died.
