Essie was a longtime member of South Fort Worth Baptist Church. She loved arts and crafts, painting and fishing. She worked for General Dynamics during World War II and worked as a teacher's aide in the Everman school district.
Essie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Eldon Saunders.
Survivors: Sons, Eldon W. Saunders and wife, Beverly, Jonathan Saunders and wife, Jeanie, and Randy Saunders and wife, Deborah; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
