POLLY BANKS, 92, PIONEER RESIDENT, DIES WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Mary Kittow Banks, better known as Mrs. Polly Banks, died early Wednesday morning in a rest home at Spearfish, South Dakota. She was about 92. Mrs. Banks, a native of England, was a pioneer Crook county resident. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Methodist church in Sundance. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah cemetery under the direction of the C.D. Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Banks came to Wyoming from Cornwall, England about 1889 with other members of her family. The family homesteaded on Blacks Flats south of Sundance. She lived on Blacks Flats until 1930 when she moved to Sundance. About three years ago she moved to Spearfish where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mae Larsen. She is survived by: one brother, Jim Hawken, Spearfish; one daughter, Mrs. Larsen; two grandchildren -- Mrs. Edna Sager, Beulah and Mrs. Verla Humphrey, Sundance; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
